Blog Update 2024

Hi everyone,

I’m officially back from my winter hiatus and can’t believe that we are halfway through 2024 as it’s the end of June and July is a few days away. It’s officially summer time and ready to enjoy the hotter and sunnier days in the city despite the humidity as I always have my dairy free ice cream & sorbet pints at home to cool down with…😋

Looking forward to a quiet and relaxing summer this year with day trips to the beaches, day trip to Burlington to visit my fave vegan bakeshop, Kelly’s, catching up with friends, attending food festivals and swimming at my gym pool. My next trip is not til the Fall beginning of October to beautiful Niagara Falls for an event but will be staying a few days to make it a mini Fall getaway. Looking forward to returning to my fave travel destination in Ontario.

What are your plans for the summer?? Hope everyone have an amazing and fun summer as well enjoy the beautiful sunny and hot days while it last here in T.O. as our summers are so short here that’s why I travel to Florida to get my extra week or more of sunshine and hot weather.

During the winter from February to beginning of May, I was busy working my temporary Administrative tax job downtown. It was a very busy and stressful job but it was a good learning experience and met some amazing and friendly new people and made a few new friends along the way. I haven’t worked downtown in a few years now so it was nice being back but a long and tiring commute. I prefer working closer uptown for my next work opportunity. Onto the next as I search for my next work opportunity hopefully to find something more permanent soon.

Treasure Island Beach Pre-Sunset

After that stressful temp job, I was so excited and happy for my amazing and sunshine tropical vacation back to my fave spot in St. Petersburg & Tampa, Florida. I was away for almost 2 weeks about 10 days, it didn’t feel that long I was not ready to go home I simply love St.Pete/Tampa area so much definitely my future winter home escape from T.O. and stayed in my fave area of Treasure Island near St. Pete, Florida for 5 days at a cozy and beach theme 2 bedroom Air bnb condo with a beautiful outdoor pool and across the street was Treasure Island beach my fave beach and restaurants nearby. I spent most of my days by the beach (either at Treasure Island beach or St. Pete beach went to both) and pool. I also got to checked out St.Pete Pier but didn’t get to explore St. Pete downtown area hopefully next time. Unfortunately this time there were 2 rain days that some of my plans got changed. During the rain days, I went shopping at my fave Target or I stayed in as it was more of a rainstorm and couldn’t go out.

The other half of my vacation, I stayed in the heart of downtown Tampa where I stayed at the most elegant and gorgeous hotel apt where they had a full kitchen and a gorgeous pool that I enjoyed almost everyday I was there. It was a different vibe downtown Tampa more of a city life but with beautiful palm trees and the tropical vibes and I loved being there walkable to Sparkman Wharf (Tampa’s outdoor dining), variety of restaurants, Tampa Riverwalk and more. As I’m always a city girl at heart so I love things being closeby and all the action of the city life but in Tampa it’s more of a tropical city life atmosphere and I am loving it there more every time I come back to visit it. I loved taking their free trolley around the downtown area as well.

I also checked out Seminole Hard Rock Tampa as I love checking out all the different Hard Rock Cafes and hotels, it was a nice night of a bit of gambling and enjoyed the best pho noodles surprisingly at a casino restaurant.

I’m looking forward to returning back to St.Pete & Tampa hopefully soon. As next year, I decided to explore a different part of Florida to try out Fort Lauderdale instead. I love exploring Florida as some don’t know how big Florida actually is so much different areas and cities to check out. But I know for sure I will definitely be back to St.Pete it is my absolute fave spot in Florida knowing me I be back sooner than I think lol.
