Can’t believe Christmas is almost here in a few days, December been flying by for me and been busy getting ready for Christmas with shopping, meeting up with friends and family for Christmas and all my delicious and sweet Christmas treats so again this is my late Holiday post. If you noticed that I been also posting on my Instagram account a few vegan bakeries to check out for your Holiday and Christmas desserts while you wait for my Holiday post here on my blog.
Thank you everyone for being patient with me again for my blog posts. It’s a been a bit of a struggle with getting motivated to write and still looking for my next Administrative work as well.
This year I’m excited to bring back my last minute Holiday Desserts and Treats Recommendations for you guys. I decided to do Holiday Cookies theme for this Holiday Post so if you are looking for the best and delicious vegan and dairy free Christmas cookies to enjoy for yourself or bring to your family or friends Christmas dinners or get togethers check out below 2 of my fave bakeries in Toronto.
Sweets From the Earth
One of my fave and first ever vegan family-owned bakery, Sweets From the Earth that I really loved for their all-natural baked goods and desserts made using 100% plant based, dairy, egg free ingredients in their 2 production facilities – both are dairy free, egg free and kosher. One is dedicated to peanut and nut free and while the other is wheat and gluten free.
I’m sure some of you guys heard of Sweets From the Earth as you seen their products in grocery stores and small business bakeries as well. I won’t get into too much details about who they are since I’m sure you guys know their history.
I was introduced to Sweets from the Earth many years ago when I first started on my dairy free diet due to my allergies and always loved their delicious and sweet baked goods and desserts esp their Oatmeal Raisin cookies are my fave as I love the single serve portion of them. I love that their desserts and baked goods are easily accessible by ordering online on their website to be delivered or found in grocery stores.
I’m excited to finally write about them on my blog because some people don’t know that they have a beautiful bakery outlet in the North York area near York University at Steeles and Keele intersection. Sometimes if you can’t find their products in stores and if you are like me and want to see the desserts and baked goods in person, then check out their bakery outlet as you will get the full shopping experience as they have all and different products at their bakery outlet and sometimes special products like single serve cheesecake and more. They also have their frozen products there as well from cakes to cupcakes to muffins and more. I always go there to pick up my Apple Pie Squares and my Oatmeal Raisin cookies (they also have their new Ginger Molasses cookies too).
Sweets From the Earth bakery outlet offer every Fridays and now Sundays their “Fresh Pastry Fridays” where they offer a selection of decadent, plant-based pastries – baked fresh and warm from the oven. Pastry selections vary each week with something new to try every Friday and Sunday from fresh and delicious croissants, danishes, sugar cookies, apple turnovers, tea biscuits, cinnamon buns and more. I been going on Fridays every few months for their fresh pastries as it is worth the trip.
With the Holidays coming up, this is the perfect Holiday fresh pastries desserts to bring for your Christmas dinners or Holidays gatherings. As they also have new Holiday treats just in time for Christmas, they have 2 new Holiday cookies flavours that include Gingersnap cookies (which I went to get these and loved them) and Double Chocolate Candy Cane cookies. They also have Gluten Free Hot Cocoa Mix with Marshmallows or Gluten Free Candy Cane Hot Cocoa Mix with Marshmallows to warm you up during the cold winter days.
As well as they also have back their Holiday cupcakes in a pack of 4 that has their Peppermint twist and festive decorations on them. They also have their new loaves for the Fall and Winter season, which the 2 flavours are Earl Grey Tea (which I got last time and if you are an Earl Grey Tea lover, this is the one for you to get, it tastes just like Earl Grey Tea) and Spiced Chai Loaf.
As mentioned I been visiting their Bakery Outlet every few months or so for their Fresh Pastry Fridays, my fave are their Apple turnovers, Raspberry sandwich sugar cookies love those and plain croissants. I love their Apple Danishes too but they don’t make it too often lol. I recently picked up their new Holiday Gingersnap cookies and love it as it’s small yet tasty and cozy perfect snack for the Holiday when I’m at home cozy in my warm blanket with these cookies. Love them!!
As you can see, Sweets From the Earth Bakery Outlet has a lot of variety of Holiday desserts to choose from and even fresh pastries on Fridays and Sundays to bring to your Christmas dinners or Holiday gatherings or any occasions with your family and friends. It’s also perfect during the winter time when it’s cold out and you can warm up to these fresh oven baked pastries as you never know what kind of pastries are available that week as they do change it up. Check out their Bakery Outlet any time of the year for the perfect fresh oven pastry.
You can pre-order your fresh pastries for the Bakery Outlet by calling or e-mail them ahead of time and the deadline is usually on Thursdays.
I love that Sweets from the Earth has different ways of getting their products either online from their website, in grocery stores or in person at their bakery outlet to make it convenient for their customers. They do have one of the best dairy free desserts and baked goods that I highly recommend as I love lots of their baked goods and desserts and tastes like normal desserts you won’t even know they are vegan and they are more healthier too with the ingredients they use.

Mad Batter Bakers
For my Christmas cookie theme for this Holiday post, this cozy and amazing bakery, Mad Batter Bakers located in the Liberty Village area has the best and softest gingerbread cookies. Mad Batter Bakers focus are gingerbread and sugar cookies. I have known Mad Batter Bakers for many years now and it’s literally my go to bakery for the best gingerbread cookie in Toronto. I make it an annual trip every Holiday season to get their gingerbread cookies as it’s worth the trip as I live quite far from them.
They are not vegan but they are dairy free, which I can eat their cookies. So I’m only recommending this to those who are dairy free and gluten free as they offer gluten free gingerbread cookies as well. They are not nut free either. Sorry to my vegan friends!! They use dairy free margarine, which consists of water and vegetable oils which is why I could eat their cookies as it has no dairy in it. Just in case those who are reading this so you know.
They have the best decorated cookies too. I love their beautifully detailed designs and different designs for each Holiday or season from Christmas to Easter to Fall and more. During the Holidays, they do offer gingerbread houses as well. They do Wholesale our cookies in and around the GTA, as well as in Sarnia, London, and Sudbury, Ontario.
They have the most amazing and friendly sweetest staff too who I have known for a few years now so it’s great to visit them too. They do events too so if you need cookies for your event, I highly recommend them.
I ended up getting this year the Christmas tree design gingerbread container yes they have small containers of gingerbread with different designs I always get one every year. I also got their mini girl and boy version of gingerbread as the girl is new this Holiday season. The mini girl is soooo cute with the bow on her hair. Every purchase of the mini girl and boy made 50% of the sales goes to help raise funds in support of SickKids Hospital so it’s a great cause. I also got a few gingerbread cookies different designs for my friend as well.
If you have a chance to visit Mad Batter Bakers before they close for the season, please check them out I highly recommend that you as they have the best and softest gingerbread cookies. This is officially my last post for 2024 and as usual I will be going on my winter hiatus for my blog since I’m usually working a temporary Administrative work in the New Year 2025 til my Spring Florida trip. Excited for new opportunities for work in the New Year 2025 and see what is out there to suit my lifestyle.
Yes, I booked part of my Florida trip end of May this time back to my fave paradise, St. Petersburg and this time checking out Siesta Key as I never been so excited to check out a new area near Tampa Bay. Will be back with new posts by approximately end of June depending on my schedule.
