Hi everyone,
I’m back once again and I can’t believe it’s officially the Fall season 🍁🍂 I’m not quite ready for the cooler weather but so far it’s been a hot and sunny summer feeling type of Fall and I’m loving it and can’t complain about our mild Fall. I can’t believe how fast this summer went esp in August as I went on my very hot summer Vegas trip and tried to soak in the last few moments of summer with the heat and sunshine and attended my fave end of summer fair, CNE (The Ex) with my family.
I hope that everyone had a great summer even with our heatwaves in T.O. unless you enjoy the heat then it’s been one of those hotter summers and those wishing for cooler temperatures, Fall is one of the perfect season as it’s warm in the afternoon and a bit cooler in the evening. I love Summer and Fall!! ☀️ I’m hoping our mild and warm, sunny Fall days last as I’m not ready for winter as I’m not quite a fan of winter anymore. So let’s soak in these warm Fall days while we can!! 🍎
This blog post is to share with you guys an important update on 2 of my fave vegan bakeshops – Kelly’s Bakeshop and Tori’s Bakeshop.
Kelly’s Bakeshop 💛
Let’s first start with Kelly’s Bakeshop as I feel more positive outcome than Tori’s Bakeshop. As you know, Kelly’s Bakeshop is my absolutely fave vegan bakeshop because it was my 1st bakeshop that I discovered in 2017 (can’t believe it’s been 8 years ago that I fell in love with Kelly’s Bakeshop) that offered dairy free desserts and bakery items as they were an allergy-friendly bakeshop that is 100% plant-based, dairy free, gluten free, egg free, peanut free and vegan. They created desserts made for everyone no matter what dietary needs and I love that I can still enjoy desserts and baked goods even with my dairy allergies. Kelly’s Bakeshop always made it a friendly and warm loving atmosphere.
Earlier this year in March 2025, Kelly Childs and Erinn Weatherbie, the mother-daughter owner’s of Kelly’s Bake Shoppe announced sadly that their Burlington heritage building location – 401 Brant St. will be closing as it was sold to condo developers and their last day was on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Kelly’s Bakeshop has been there for 13 years and first opened in 2012. I was devastated and heartbroken by this news as I love Kelly’s Bakeshop as Burlington has become my 2nd home to travel to not just enjoy Kelly’s but I love the community and waterfront at Burlington where my bestie and I always go for our foodie day trips. Of course I had to visit Kelly’s Bakeshop their Burlington location one last time in mid-April before they closed on Sunday, May 4, which was the official last day where I went in mid-April with my bestie our last day trip together or so we thought? 🤔

It was the perfect warm Spring day to enjoy Burlington and said a sad goodbye to my fave Kelly’s Bakeshop Burlington location. Of course, I had to get their delicious and creamy Vanilla soft serve with strawberry sauce and crumbling topping. I also got my fave Strawberry Shortcake cupcake and tried their BlueBerry Pie cupcake, which was the April flavour of the month along with 2 delicious cake donuts – 1 was the Vanilla Dipped donut and the other was the Cinnamon Sugar flavour. It was a bit emotional at that time being there for the last time at that heritage building where I spent the past 8 years on my foodie days with my bestie and enjoying the best vegan desserts.
New Burlington Location Announcement 💖
The exciting news is that little did we know that in the beginning of August, Kelly’s Bakeshop owner’s – Kelly & Erinn announced they officially have secured a new Burlington location – taking over 2 spaces 461 & 463 Brant St. and new address will be 461 Brant St. planning to open for Dec 2025 just in time for the Holidays, we are all hoping!! You can follow along their journey on “Kelly’s Comeback Story” and the construction on their bakeshop on their Youtube channel. You can find all this information on their Instagram account (Details below).
I’m so excited and thrilled that they found a new flagship location in Burlington as they did mentioned that they still want a location in Burlington but I didn’t think they would have found it this quickly. So I’m beyond happy and relieved and counting down to the opening date as I will definitely be visiting their new Burlington location. I will definitely be posting a new blog post on their new location next year in 2026 for sure.
But for now, if you didn’t know, they do still have their 2nd location in Oakville that they opened last year on December 15, 2024. I didn’t go to Oakville one before until they closed the Burlington location as I always went to the Burlington one so it wasn’t necessary for me to go.
I have recently visited their Oakville location and it was so cozy and a smaller shop but I loved it the same Kelly’s love and feel just as beautiful the interior but in Oakville and will write a proper blog post for it separately to share with you guys. Definitely if you are in the area of Oakville or from the GTA or in Toronto, it’s definitely worth the trip to check out their Oakville location until they open their new Burlington location. You can’t miss out on the best, delicious and sweet treats from Kelly’s!!
As well don’t forget you can always order Kelly’s delicious treats online for delivery if you can’t make it in person as they deliver 200km radius in the GTA from Burlington to North York to Markham and more along with Nationwide Shipping on selected items.

Tori’s Bakeshop
So next update is with Tori’s Bakeshop, if you didn’t know they sadly decided to close their cafe storefront on Queen St. East on June 22, 2025 as the building as been sold to new owners after 13 years at that location.
I’m heartbroken again that another one of my fave and another 1st vegan bakeshop that I discovered in Toronto around the same time as Kelly’s is closing down. Tori’s Bakeshop been there for 13 years since 2012 and sad to see it close after all these years and one of the 1st Vegan bakeshop in Toronto.
I always love visiting the Beaches area when I visit Tori’s Bakeshop and love the community there as well as visiting the beaches itself where I can enjoy my sweet delicious treats and be at the beach at the same time. I’m sad I will miss coming to the beaches area as I won’t be visiting as much as I used to now that Tori’s Bakeshop is gone.
Their space is being taken over by a new non-profit café, Judy’s with a powerful mission to provide meaningful employment opportunities to people with disabilities and they will also continue to sell some of Tori’s Bakeshop baked goods. But for me, it won’t feel the same so I’m not sure how I feel going there anymore. But that is one of the options if you are in that area and like to still enjoy Tori’s Bakeshop baked goods.
Despite closing down their storefront, Tori’s bakeshop will be running online only through their website where you can order their baked goods and desserts for it to be delivered to your door, which is a great news and option. (But a few times I seen not in stock or not available to order so I’m not sure if it’s available all the time online maybe a certain days they run out of stock, I did see baked goods available other days but please if there is any issues please e-mail them or message them on Instagram)
As well you can find their baked goods and treats in person at one of their retail partners from various cafes and grocery stores such as Longos (I haven’t seen any yet), The Big Carrot, Kupert & Kim, Village Juicery, Nature’s Emporium, iQ Food Co and a few other that you can find listed on their Instagram page. I will provide their IG account details below. I really hope I can find or order online Tori’s Bakeshop baked goods again as I truly love their apple muffins and their cupcakes so I’m really sad that I won’t be able to enjoy it as often as I would have liked it if they still had their cafe storefront.
Already miss visiting their bakeshop to enjoy their treats in their cozy bakeshop or when I picked it up in person and just feel the cozy and bakery atmosphere…😢
I did visit Tori’s Bakeshop one last time on June 21, 2025 where I pre-ordered one of my faves Raspberry Poptarts and wish I ordered the apple muffins as when I got there it was already sold out. So I did ended up getting the last few cupcakes – Blueberry Cheesecake with yummy blueberry compote inside and blueberry cheesecake frosting swirl as I’m not much of a fan of blueberry I actually really enjoyed it and got the Vanilla cupcake too. It was nice to enjoy my cupcakes there in the café shop one last time. It was sad to know I won’t be coming back to this location as I been there for at least 7-8 years. It was a bit of emotional day there.
I also got to check out the Kew-Balmy Beach by Woodbine beach after my last visit to Tori’s Bakeshop with my baked goods in hand.

Already miss you Tori’s Bakeshop!!! I wish you and your incredible team the continued success doing online business!! Will always continue to support you.
