My New Fave West End Local Vegan Bakeshop, Caked Coffee

Hi everyone,

I’m officially back with my 1^st blog post entry of 2022 and it only took almost half a year, but its definitely worth the wait as I’m so excited to be back with exciting new bakeries to share with all my readers. I’m officially welcoming everyone new and returning readers back to my sweet dairy free foodie blog. I can’t wait to start sharing again all these new exciting and returning faves bakeries with you all!!

As summer is coming up, I will be doing again my Summer series now called: The Sweet Foodie’s Summer Frozen Desserts Series (renamed – originally named: Summer Series) where I share with you all my fave dairy free ice cream / sorbet shops to check out this summer to cool down in this heat with some cold and refreshing sorbets and dairy free ice creams in Toronto, GTA and even in Vegas (that’s my one surprise I’m letting you know now…😉). As you can see lots of exciting & sweet things happening this summer! So don’t miss out every month starting beginning of July, I will be starting my 1st Summer post for some delicious and sweet cool dairy free ice cream. Stay tuned!!

Caked Coffee

I’m excited to share in my 1^st blog post of 2022 with one of my fave type of desserts besides my love for cupcakes, I also love cakes, because who doesn’t love cake?? If you love cakes, this might be the perfect bakeshop for you, I’m excited to share with you guys this new & cozy bakeshop called Caked Coffee. Don’t be fooled by their name as this vegan bakeshop and café offers a variety of sweet and savoury vegan foods with their specialty in cakes. So you would get the best of both worlds!!

Caked Coffee is located near High Park in the West end of Toronto. They offer a variety of baked goods such as cake in in a jar (love this idea), slices of cakes, cookies, cinnamon buns, banana loaves, & more. As well they have light savoury sandwiches & flatbreads along with hot and cold drinks from lattes to mocha to chai tea, iced coffee and lemonade and more.

I was excited to finally stop by Caked Coffee in the beginning of May after discovering it online, I was so happy to made it to this bakery. It’s a short walk from Keele subway station for those taking the transit. When I entered the bakery, I was blown away by their beautiful and modern yet cozy décor and design of the bakery (they made some recent minor changes only to the layout only so it might look a bit different than my photos.) I loved it!! I was greeted by one of the owners, Roman (husband) as Caked Coffee is owned by a husband and wife duo – Roman Gill and Supreet Arora, who was very friendly and very informative about their vegan baked goods and why he and his wife decided to started their vegan bakery as they are vegan too after making the diet switch to become vegans and hoping to make an impact with vegan foods in the High Park community.

I ended up getting a slice of lemon vanilla cake to eat at their beautifully decorated café and also got their Funfetti cake jar to bring home to enjoy. I loved the cake, it was moist and soft. I enjoyed the lemon and vanilla flavour in the cake. You can’t even tell that it is a vegan and dairy free cake, that is how delicious it was there is no difference in the taste for me. I definitely recommend this vegan bakery to you guys as I love their moist and flavourful cake. I hope that they will do more fruity flavours for the summer or the future as I’m prefer more flavours that are more fruity and sweet and bright such as Strawberry, Mango or Raspberry flavours. This bakery offer certain flavours such as chocolate (I don’t eat chocolate so that doesn’t help lol) & cookies & cream, which is still great flavours just not suited for me. But I do like the Blueberry Lemon flavour. I wanted more range of flavours offered. I hope they will offer more of a variety of flavours as they continue to grow as they are a new bakeshop. There are more flavours listed on their website so check all their flavours out there.

I loved the cake jar concept and enjoyed the funfetti cake at home, it lasted up to 5 days so that’s great that I had a few days to enjoy this delicious and moist cake. As mentioned I hope they release more fruity flavours for the cake jars as well. I will be definitely looking forward to coming back to this sweet & savoury bakeshop. They just opened a patio at the back of their bakeshop for the summer and more patio seats in the front of the bakeshop so more great reasons to check out this bakeshop and enjoy your delicious sweet and savoury treats outside.

If you are in the West end of Toronto, I definitely recommend you stopping by one of my new fave vegan bakeshop offering sweet and savoury baked goods, Caked Coffee. It’s the perfect bakeshop to check out this summer, fall or anytime as it’s only a few mins walk from High Park where you can enjoy the sunny day at the park with a delicious and sweet baked goods at the same time with their cold and hot drinks. As we start summer this week with some very humid weather in T.O., I’m looking forward to sharing with you guys starting in July a few of my fave new dairy free ice cream shops to cool down this summer as it looks like a very humid summer. Hope you guys are all as excited as me for hot and humid summer days, how will you cool down this summer? 💧
